The ideal weather condition for sleigh rides is to have about 1 to 10 inches of snow on the ground. However, if there’s a lack of snow we can run our sleighs on wheels. Below freezing conditions are almost always necessary for rides. In the event of rainy or icy conditions, we will almost always cancel sleigh rides. Make sure to keep an eye on weather conditions the day before your ride (we’ll also try to email and call you if there’s bad weather).
Sleigh Ride Length
Our rides are 30 to minutes to an hour long depending on the package selected. Rides are usually scheduled with 5-10 minutes to spare to allow you sufficient time to board and get pictures with the horses and staff if desired. We’ve opened a new trail to make our rides longer and more enjoyable than previous seasons. Most of our guest tell us that our new sleigh ride trail is the perfect length — not too short so that you wouldn’t enjoy the experience, and not too long that you would get freezing cold. If you need a custom sleigh experience, please contact us.
Typical Winter Schedule
Our first ride usually starts at 10am and last ride finishes before dusk, usually around 5pm depending on the time of year. Due to the length of the trail and colder temperatures after dark in an open sleigh, we do not run rides after dusk. We book rides throughout the winter, most weekends are available, but rides do book fast, so make sure to plan in advance.
